The Chiefs & Texans interested in Jets RB Le'Veon Bell

The New York Jets season has reached its tipping points as the team sits at 1-6 with no hope of resurgence. After a humiliating loss to the Jaguars, the team is reportedly open to a "fire sale," according to The Athletic.

Part of the fire sale is trading running back Le'Veon Bell, which the Jets are willing to do, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

There aren't many running back-needy teams, but two teams have emerged as the most interested in Bell.

According to Connor Hughes of The Athletic, the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are leading the pack to acquire Bell with the Chiefs the favorite due to having more tradable assets. Hughes added the Jets "aren't shopping" Bell, but teams are calling them, and they are willing to listen.

The Texans shipped away two first-round picks to the Dolphins for Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills, making a deal almost impossible unless the team moves players along with draft picks.

The Chiefs may have the golden ticket when it comes to acquiring Bell. Kansas City traded Dee Ford to San Francisco for a second-round pick, giving them three picks through the first and second round. It is worth noting one of the second-round picks is a conditional pick that would transfer to Seattle due to the 49ers undefeated record.

Jets head coach Adam Gase was not a fan of the Le'Veon Bell signing during the offseason, and with New York's new GM Joe Douglas moving Bell is a strong possibility.

The Chiefs and Texans are currently both 5-3 and are the 27th and sixth-ranked rushing offenses in the NFL.
