NFL Post-Draft Power Rankings


So far it has been a very active and interesting offseason. Nowadays during the COVID-19 pandemic, we could all use a little entertainment and NFL fans everywhere are getting that in the offseason.

We have seen some huge trades like Tom Brady going to Tampa Bay and Philip Rivers going to Indianapolis. In the 2020 NFL draft, we have seen some big names announced as well as some trades like DeAndre Hopkins going to Arizona.

With the draft finished and training camps hopefully starting soon, it’s time to breakdown the power rankings before the action gets started in the preseason.

1. Baltimore Ravens


After having a terrific draft, the Ravens definitely take the top spot. The offense will be about the same, but the defense will be so much better than last season.

2. New Orleans Saints


After getting Emmanuel Sanders, the already fantastic offense will be stronger in 2020. Despite only having four selections in the draft, the Saints are a championship contender next season.

3. Kansas City Chiefs


After winning the Super Bowl last year, the Chiefs don’t need to do a whole lot in the offseason. They didn’t have a great draft, but they should be able to hang with the Ravens next year.

4. Buffalo Bills


The Bills mean business in 2020. With Tom Brady out of New England, the Bills could have a fantastic year in the AFC East.

5. San Francisco 49ers


The stacked top five concludes with a team that will make an impact in 2020. The 49ers had a great draft by filling holes and getting Trent Williams.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers


Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Tristan Wirfs will make a huge impact for the Bucs. It will be interesting to see how the secondary plays in 2020.

7. Philadelphia Eagles


The Eagles did not have a fantastic draft after selecting a couple of surprising players like Jalen Hurts. However, Carson Wentz should take them to the playoffs again this season.

8. Seattle Seahawks


The Seahawks did the exact same thing as Philadelphia in the offseason. Russell Wilson should carry the Seahawks to another postseason, maybe even a rematch with the Eagles.

9. Indianapolis Colts


The Colts had a fantastic draft filling in some spots they needed to fill. It’s going to be an interesting quarterback position battle between Phillip Rivers and Jacob Eason.

10. Minnesota Vikings


The Vikings had the best draft out of all 32 teams. The defensive unit could be the best in the NFL next season.

11. Dallas Cowboys


It’s going to be interesting for Dak Prescott in his final year under his current contract. That could make a huge impact on his team’s performance.

12. Green Bay Packers


The Packers chocked in the draft. However with Aaron Rodgers still there, for now, they should still have a good season.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers


As a Steelers fan, it pains me to not put them in the top 10. However, if Ben Roethlisberger stays healthy after week two, the Steelers could have a breakthrough season in 2020.

14. Arizona Cardinals


The Cardinals did not have a great draft, but after getting DeAndre Hopkins from Houston, the Cardinals could have their best season since appearing in Super Bowl 42.

15. Atlanta Falcons


The Falcons defense will be better in 2020. However, the Falcons did not have a great draft by selecting positions that they did not need. I honestly see 2020 being the last year for Dan Quinn at Atlanta.

16. Tennessee Titans


Before the draft, the Titans were in the top 10. With a decent draft, the Titans are back to where they were during this time last year. The Titans could make another run in the AFC championship next season. It’s going to be an interesting year for them.

17. Los Angeles Rams


The Rams picked up some good weapons for Jared Goff with Florida State running back Cam Akers and Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson. With a new stadium starting next season, it’s going to be an exciting season for all the LA players.

18. Denver Broncos


The Broncos got Drew Lock some help in the draft selecting wide receivers Jerry Jeudy from Alabama and KJ Hamler from Penn State. They also got a fast tight end in Albert Okwuegbunam. It will not be enough to beat Kansas City, but I’m expecting a close race for a playoff spot.

19. New England Patriots


Who would have ever thought we would not see New England in the top 10? It’s going to be an interesting quarterback position battle between Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer.

20. Las Vegas Raiders


New year, new city, but still the same team. Will the Raiders recover from the bumpy road with Antonio Brown? They did get the fastest wide receiver in the draft last year in Henry Ruggs III, but I’m willing to bet the Raiders will finish last in the AFC West.

21. Miami Dolphins


The Dolphins had a fantastic draft, but they still have to play. Tua Tagovailoa should get Miami to a hot start, but hopefully he can stay healthy throughout the season.

22. Cincinnati Bengals


The Joe Burrow era in Cincinnati has begun. The Bengals will have a tough first game at home against the Los Angeles Chargers, but it will be interesting to see how Burrow performs in his first big league game.

23. Los Angeles Chargers


The Chargers entire season comes down to who the quarterback is. With Philip Rivers no longer there, it will be either Tyrod Taylor or rookie Justin Herbert in game one. The Chargers can’t go wrong with either quarterback.

24. Cleveland Browns


The Browns have stepped up their defense in a big way and also getting two talented offensive linemen in Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr. and Washington’s Nick Harris. The defense will keep the Browns in the game, but Baker Mayfield and his offense need to keep going.

25. Houston Texans


Deshaun Watson deserves a shot to reach the Super Bowl, but he doesn’t have enough weapons on offense, especially after trading DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona. It looks like Watson will have to do most of the work on offense.

26. Detroit Lions


Detroit had a fine draft especially on defense when they selected Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah, but they did not do much for the offense even though they got Georgia running back D’Andre Swift. This could be the last year for Matt Patricia in Detroit.

27. Chicago Bears



Chicago is one of those teams that has an interesting quarterback position battle. They could stick with Mitch Trubisky or they can go with future Hall of Famer Nick Foles. They can’t lose either way.

28. New York Jets


Expect some big things from the Jets with new general manager Joe Douglas. The Jets had one of the better drafts last month, but Sam Darnold still has room to improve before week one.

29. New York Giants


The Giants are on the right path to make it to the playoffs, but they are not quite there yet. After stepping it up big time on defense, the offense still needs to improve.

30. Carolina Panthers


It’s very unlikely that Cam Newton will return to the Panthers, but the Panthers filled in some defensive positions they desperately needed to fill. Hopefully Teddy Bridgewater will keep the Panthers in contention for a wild card spot.

31.Jacksonville Jaguars



The Jaguars made some nice selections in the draft as well as some good free-agent signees, but Gardner Minshew is not the right quarterback for Jacksonville. If I were the general manager of Jacksonville, I would look to trade in for Cam Newton.

32. Washington Redskins



Despite Washington having the second overall pick in Ohio State’s Chase Young, Dwayne Haskins still needs to step it up next year. I expect the Redskins to win at least three games in 2020.
