Potential Landing Spots for Cam Newton

It seems that Cam Newtons’ time in Charlotte has come to an end as Superman may have finally met his doomsday.

A once electric NFL superstar is being outperformed by an undrafted NFL rookie. As injuries have derailed the former MVP's career, the Carolina Panthers have a hard decision to make moving forward. Cam Newton, before a foot injury, led the Panthers to an abysmal 0-2 record.

Replacing Newton, Kyle Allen is currently undefeated and has the Panthers sitting at 4-2 one game behind the Saints for first place in the NFC South.

The emergence of Allen as a legitimate starter has led to speculation of Newton's departure, which may be the best move for both parties.

These are some potential landing spots for Newton!

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The Indianapolis Colts could use a superstar quarterback like Cam Newton to fill the void left by Andrew Luck. Luck retired unexpectedly this offseason, which promoted Jacoby Brissett to the starting role.

The Indianapolis Colts have the best offensive line in football with star guard Quinton Nelson holding the left guard position down. Playing behind the fourth-ranked o-line, according to Pro Football Focus, is essential for an aging quarterback, like Newton's, success.

If Cam Newton played for the Colts, not only will he have more time in the pocket, but the read-option play with running back Marlon Mack would be challenging to game plan against.

This season, Mack has proven to be one of the best in the NFL, with the game against the Chiefs being the most prevalent to this claim. Mack rushed for 132 yards on 29 attempts, playing a major role in ending the Chief's hopes for an undefeated season.

The Colts also have an excellent defense and young offensive stars, making adding an experienced quarterback like Cam Newton overkill.

The Colts could go from a franchise shook unexpectedly because of retirement to being a super bowl contender again.

CHICAGO BEARS

The Chicago Bears could use help igniting their offense this season.

Chicago is ranked 30th in passing yards with 185.4 yards per game and 26th in rushing with 80.4 yards per game. Matt Nagy’s offense seems to be a shadow of what it was formerly in 2018 when it won the division.

Quarterback Mitch Trubisky's week 4 injury didn’t help the team’s success, but even with him at the helm, the team looks lost. While Trubisky is just as physically gifted as Newton, the Panthers' quarterback can eliminate any mistakes a young quarterback would make.

Chicago arguably has the best defense in the NFL with stars like Kahlil Mack, Eddie Jackson, and Ha-ha Clinton-Dix. The defense is so good that the team not winning a championship for Chicago would cause the '85 Bears to turn in their sleep.

Chicago inquiring about the former MVP wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities if Trubisky continues to struggle.

If so, there could be a Superman spotting in the windy city.

DALLAS COWBOYS

Big D might be the location of Cam Newton’s next stop in the NFL.

The Cowboys were one of the hottest teams at the beginning of this season, but find themselves on a three-game losing streak.

Due to the downward spiral, head coach Jason Garrett might be on his way out if results don’t change, and Dak Prescott might follow as contract negotiations on a deal have seemingly stalled.

Dallas might trade for Newton this season if they feel a personnel change is necessary to win.

Cam Newton can provide a veteran presence to a team with young superstars Ezekiel Elliot and Amari Cooper. The Cowboys offensive line is also excellent and can help Newton stay healthy, allowing him to do what he does best-make the big play.

Jerry Jones likes to take gambles, and Cam Newton might be the gamble that gives the Cowboys a sixth Super Bowl.

DENVER BRONCOS

(via Sports Illustrated)

Cam Newton, the man whose incredible MVP season ended in defeat at the hands of the Broncos, could witness his career be saved by the team that ripped immortality from his hands.

We are a couple of years removed from the Broncos taking a risk on Peyton Manning, who had been recovering from severe neck surgery the year prior. The move worked out for both teams as Manning took Denver to two super bowls in four years, winning one.

John Elway is notorious for revitalizing aging quarterbacks, and Cam Newton’s arrival in Denver could bring him success with veteran players like Emmanuel Sanders, and young stars Philip Lindsey and Courtland Sutton.

Denver is in a situation like the one with Manning, and with Elway, Newton could not only revive his career but also reclaim his MVP status.
