NFL Week 11 Predictions

Updated: Nov 21, 2018

The offenses came to play last week as six teams scored over 30 points with three teams scoring over 40. The Steelers and Saints even went as far as to put up 52 and 51 points up against their respected opponents.

Week 10 also saw multiple upset. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles lost at home against the rival Cowboys. The Buffalo Bills demolished the Jets by a score of 41-10 while the Patriots looked lost in Tennessee. Even the "DAWGS" came out as the Browns took care of Matt Ryan and the Falcons at home.

The Patriots loss was a puzzling one considering Sportsline had New England has a 6.5 point favorite. Tom Brady struggled against the Titans defense-throwing for just over 250 yards and zero touchdowns.

The New England defense looked surprised by how well the Titans offense performed. Tennessee scored 34 points, the second most by any New England opponent this season. The Patriots fell flat on their faces in week 10.

The Patriots loss cements the Chiefs as the number one team in the AFC. The Rams, on the other hand, find themselves locked in a battle with the Saints atop the NFC. The Chiefs and Rams are Super Bowl LIII favorites, according to Sportsline. The two teams were originally supposed to travel to Mexico City but poor field conditions have changed the venue.

The Kansas City Chiefs will now travel to LA Memorial Coliseum to face off with the Rams on Monday Night Football in a possible Super Bowl preview.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS. LOS ANGELES RAMS

The Chiefs and Rams enter their Monday Night Football showdown as the top two teams in all of football. The two teams rank in the top three in scoring with just over one point separating the offenses.

Head coaches Andy Reid and Sean McVay have designed their teams' offenses to play smart but also keep an eye out for the "money play."

The Chiefs and Rams combined have 123 total plays over 20 yards this season, by far the most in 2018.

MVP candidate and Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes especially likes to sling it, with 11 passes for over 40 yards-tied for most in the NFL. His primary target isTyreek Hill, otherwise known as "the cheetah."

Hill may not be in the top 10 when it comes to receptions but is tops in the NFL with 12 plays over the 20-yard mark. Hill also ranks top five in receiving yards but his ability to gain yards after the catch is what separates "the cheetah" from the rest of the pack.

Hill leads all receivers with 354 yards after the catch making him the NFL's best explosive wide-out, according to NBC Sports. This Monday, whoever is guarding Hill will have their hands full with the NFL's fastest and most dynamic receiver.

The Rams do not lack talent on the offensive side of the ball either with Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks leading the way. Gurley is an annual MVP candidate as he is the best two purpose back in all of football. Gurley leads the NFL with 988 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. The 2017 MVP runner-up also has 402 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. A combined 1,390 yards and 17 touchdowns lead the NFL and has put Gurley in the MVP conversation once again.

Gurley is lighting it up in the city of Angels but Kareem Hunt has been powering through any defense in his way. Hunt is fourth in yards from scrimmage with 1,091 and has pounded his way to 13 total touchdowns, according to ESPN.

Three elite offensive weapons will be on the field this Monday but the quarterback battle could be the most interesting.

Patrick Mahomes is the gunslinger and Jared Goff is the scheme fit-think, Brett Favre and Tom Brady. Currently, Mahomes is the best quarterback in football and is not even close. He leads the NFL in passing yards (3,150) and touchdown passes (31), third in yards per game (315), and fifth in touchdown to interception ratio (4.4:1).

The Rams passing defense ranks just inside the top 20 but in the last three games, the Rams have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for an average of 269 yards, which would rank the ninth worst in the league.

The Rams defense has been vulnerable giving up an average of 34 points the past three Sundays. Not a good sign for a team playing the league's second-highest scoring offense.

A positive for the Rams is quarterback Jared Goff, although not as good as Mahomes, has led the Rams the third-highest scoring offense in the NFL. Granted Goff is more of a product of Sean McVay's system, he has played to an elite level as well.

Goff is the number two overall quarterback, according to NFL.com, ranking just below Mahomes. The Rams' quarterback has utilized slants routes and pick plays all season to pick apart opposing defenses. His favorite slot receiver Cooper Kupp has been ruled out the remainder of the 2018 season which could affect Los Angeles' passing game.

Head coach Sean McVay will surely have a scheme set up to take account for the injury. McVay and Goff have been an electrical combo in 2018 as the two get the most out of every pass. Averaging 9.4 yards a pass, Goff has made drives look easy for the Rams.-marching up and down the field at will, the Rams will find a home in the end-zone on Monday night.

Verdict:

The offenses will have the green light the entire game with multiple touchdowns for both the Rams and Chiefs.

Stars like Tyreek Hill and Todd Gurley will put up points in a flash as they burn through defenses that have played poorly in recent weeks.

The Chiefs are healthy and have had the easiest part of their schedule the past few weeks playing the Browns and Cardinals. Their recent uptick in defense is due to such a week stretch.

Los Angeles, in the midst of the toughest part of their schedule, struggled-losing their first game of the season and playing two games that came down the final minutes.

A Chiefs versus Rams match-up is a guaranteed money maker for the NFL, unfortunately, one team must lose.

The Chiefs have had it easy the past few weeks and could be labeled as "untested". The Rams have played tough opponents have nearly come out losers the last three Sundays.

On Monday night, Los Angeles will show their battle scars and suffer a rare loss at home. Mahomes and the Chiefs offense will have a big night while the Rams answer back at an alarming rate.

A close game till the fourth quarter, Mahomes and the Chiefs will lead the ninth-ranked fourth quarter away defense to victory.

FINAL SCORE: Chiefs 33, Rams 28
