NFL Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Offer Zach Ertz to the Jacksonville Jaguars in deal for Jalen Ramsey

The Philadelphia Eagles may not have the best record in the NFC East or the healthiest roster. There is even a chance the team starts the season 1-3 following Thursday night's game at Lambeau Field against the Packers.

The adversity has not kept general manager Howie Roseman from monitoring the trading block, which currently boasts names like offensive lineman Trent Williams and running back Melvin Gordon. None of those names come close to the magnitude of Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Ramsey made headlines last week when he requested a trade following a meeting with the front office, which Ramsey claimed, "they said some offensive things."

Ramsey is dealing with a back injury according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and is also going to be away from the team for "as long as he needs" due to the birth of his second child (via Yahoo Sports)

Now that Ramsey is on the market, teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens have shown interest with the Ravens currently having the 'best offer on the table.'

930 The Game's Eugene Frenette stated the Ravens offered a first and second-round pick as well as tight end Hayden Hurst. The Jaguars declined the trade for an undisclosed reason leaving people wondering exactly what Jacksonville wants in return for Ramsey.

According to Austin Krell of The Painted Lines, "The Philadelphia Eagles have offered a trade package including tight end Zach Ertz to the Jaguars in exchange for Jalen Ramsey. The deal is also said to include a handful of draft picks.

While Philadelphia nor the Jaguars have confirmed trade discussions, the thought of seeing two pro bowl players swapping teams and possibly vying for the playoffs is intriguing.

Ramsey would fill a massive hole Philadelphia has in the secondary and a division with Amari Cooper, he would be the Eagles best chance at slowing him down.

When it comes to Ertz, he would first have to play with the charismatic rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew. Having Ertz in the middle of the field would add another layer to the Jaguars offense and possibly open holes for Leonard Fournette's return to form. By week 10, Ertz would then be re-introduced to his former quarterback Nick Foles, who is suffering from a broken collarbone.

While in Philadelphia, Foles and Ertz had quite the connection, which led to Foles targeting the six-foot five-inch tight end 25 percent of the time.

If an agreement is made to swap Ertz for Ramsey, the advantage would likely go in Jacksonville's favor, but the impact Ramsey would have on Philadelphia's secondary would not go unnoticed.
