NFL Rumors: Cincinnati Bengals add WR AJ Green to the Trade Block; Patriots and Saints interested

Every year the same news resurfaces of the Cincinnati Bengals possibly trading receiver AJ Green. This season the rumors have never been hotter.

The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints are reportedly interested in trading for Green, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. While it is uncertain as to if a trade reaches an agreement before the week eight deadline, Green is one of the most prolific stars on the trade block.

Since 2011, Green has a total of 602 receptions, 8,907 yards, and 63 TD's (via ActionNetwork)

La Canfora added, in exchange for Green, who has missed the entire season with a foot injury, the Bengals could land a first-round pick when he returns.

The 31-year old wideout is in the final year of his contract and is due $12 million for the rest of the season.

Saints reporter for The Athletic Katherine Terrell stated, health concerns as the main concern for any team looking to acquire Green.

According to SportsInjuryPredictor.com, Green has a 53.6 percent of injury. Green's projected missed games stood at 1.9 before the season. Green, despite being listed as active, is still considered "weeks away" from returning and is expected to miss the next two weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Skepticism remains as to if the Bengals would trade Green, an eight-time pro bowler and face of the Cincinnati franchise, to embrace the rebuild. Head coach Zac Taylor nor Green has responded to any of the rumors but for the 13-year old, he could be playing for a new team by the end of week eight.

The Bengals' record sits at 0-4 heading into week five against the Arizona Cardinals and is one of five other win-less teams thus far.
