Once beloved by an entire city for your electrifying play and one-handed catches, you have expressed your true color. At the start, the entire NFL thought you bled the Black and Yellow that encompasses Pittsburgh. The yellow representing the prestige and class the Steelers organization hold among the rest of the league. The black being the toughness and darkness players like James Harrison and Troy Polamalu would turn to for a big hit, eventually securing a victory.
Now, AB, your color are green, silver and black. The green representing the envy you have for former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster and Ben Roethlisberger. Constantly calling out the man, most responsible for your success, took a hit to your reputation.
The consequences were minimal compared to your actions towards the beloved JuJu. A fan called him the MVP of the Steelers, in regards to last season. You could not take that someone younger, and to some better, was getting more attention and more credit. You lashed out and tweeted, criticizing JuJu for a mistake, which was one of the main factors costing the Steelers a playoff spot.
The biggest mistake in JuJu's young career, you used to attack his talent. It was a personal attack of jealousy and envy. The Steelers, and more importantly the fans, love JuJu more than you and you could not take it.
JuJu responded the way a number one receiver should, with class and respect. Once again showing you up.
Obviously feeling threatened by a rising star, you ran from the pressure and fear of being overshadowed. Requesting a trade, more like forcing a trade to the Oakland Raiders. A home fitting for yourself. A team in limbo and with no direction. A team on the verge of a breakdown with little stability held up by a loving fan base and accepting quarterback. A team with a questionable future-just like yourself.
Now you boast silver and black. The silver being a mediocre reward for a player previously heralded as the best receiver in the league. The silver being a bargaining chip in your betrayal to the Steelers and people you once called friends-maybe even family.
The black representing your recent actions and your villainous turn. 'Mr. Big Chest', the ties are severed. The world has seen you, not as a hero but as a villain. Egotistical and arrogant. Craving money and living with a case of entitlement.
All eyes are on you, and the critics waiting for the first dropped ball and next under .500 season. The critics are panting and begging for another outburst, something you have shown little restraint in doing.
Your latest stint was releasing private DM's from JuJu Smith-Schuster asking for advice while he was attending USC. JuJu, doing something any humble and respectful athlete should, he asked for help.
Instead of respecting the privacy of direct messages, you posted the message on Instagram. A ploy to change to the conversation from 'Antonio Brown is a diva' to 'JuJu needed me'.
The plan failed. JuJu was and remains the victim in this two-day long outburst.
Just like a significant other who cannot let the relationship go, you have been obsessed with your former partner and the life you once had.
Mr. Brown take some of your own advice.
