Whenever someone is throwing the ball, there’s usually someone catching the ball unless if that person has rock hands. In this case, these five guys have the best hands heading into the NFL Draft in less than two weeks.
Four of these wide receivers have the potential to get drafted in the first round and all of these players have experience in the college football playoffs, so they know what it’s like to play in a big atmosphere. Four of these players also won at least one national championship.
These wide receivers are anxiously waiting to get the phone call they have been waiting to receive in less than two weeks. The first wide receiver is the first of two Tigers on the list.
5. Tee Higgins (Clemson Tigers)
Higgins has already shown that he can play with some of the best wide receivers in the NFL. In three years at Clemson, he caught 27 receiving touchdowns, which is tied with DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins for the most in program history.
The statistic that makes Higgins better is that he is the only wide receiver in Clemson history to have double-digit touchdown receptions in back-to-back seasons with 13 in 2019 and 12 in 2018. He only had two touchdowns in 13 games during his freshman season.
We can see Higgins being drafted in the final picks of the first round, but he’s more likely to be a second-round pick.
4. Henry Ruggs III (Alabama Crimson Tide)
Ruggs is one of those wide receivers that can do everything a coach wants in a wide receiver. In 2019, he has shown that he can not only catch the ball, but also run effective routes.
He only had two rushing attempts in his final season with the Crimson Tide, but one of them was for 75 yards. In 2019, 1,107 all-purpose yards averaging 92.3 yards per game. He may have not been the top target for Tua Tagovailoa, but if he gets paired with the right quarterback, he could be a weapon for his team.
3. Justin Jefferson (LSU Tigers)
The second Tiger on this list had an interesting college career. In his freshman season, Jefferson didn’t record one reception. In his sophomore season, he led all of LSU’s receivers with 875 yards, six touchdowns, and 54 receptions in 13 games.
In his final season at LSU with Joe Burrow as quarterback, Jefferson nearly doubled all of his numbers from the previous year with 111 receptions, 1,540 yards, and 18 touchdowns including four touchdowns in the college football playoff semifinal against Oklahoma.
We can see Jefferson drafted in the first round but probably not in the top 20 overall.
2. Jerry Jeudy (Alabama Crimson Tide)
If there is one guy you want in the end zone, it has to be Jeudy. He caught 26 career touchdowns in three years, which is the second-most in program history.
Jeudy started slow getting 14 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns in his freshman season. However, he became one of the best wide receivers in the country receiving at least 1,000 yards in each of his last two seasons including 24 touchdowns.
In his last game with the Crimson Tide against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, he caught a career-high 204 yards in only six receptions.
1. CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma Sooners)
Lamb is a guy who can get open and make the opposing team’s defense pay for it. The Oklahoma Sooner has the most career catches of at least 40 yards (24) in program history. He also leads the program with six career games when he earned at least 160 receiving yards.
Lamb’s 32 career receiving touchdowns rank second in Oklahoma history. We can expect Lamb to be picked in the top 15 or maybe even the top 10 in this year’s draft even though he’s the only guy on this list to not play in a national championship game.
